About the Reach Foundation

FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, BY YOUNG PEOPLE

The Reach Foundation is a not-for-profit, for-purpose organisation dedicated to shaping generations of confident, self-aware and passionate young people.

UNLOCKING THE POWER OF YOUNG PEOPLE

Through engaging and transformative youth-led workshops, Reach helps build social, emotional and resilience skills among young people so they can navigate life’s challenges and thrive.

These targeted, youth-led programs are aimed at the promotion, prevention and early intervention of mental health in young people. This proven, peer-to-peer approach creates spaces that are relatable, interactive and engaging while empowering young people to build capacity to thrive and navigate life’s challenges.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

The organisation was established in 1994 by AFL footballer Jim Stynes and filmmaker Paul Currie. After an almost 30-year history as Australia’s most influential youth organisation, Reach has worked with more than 1 million young people nationally, delivering workshops and experiences across many thousands of schools and diverse communities.

100% led, designed and delivered by young people

Reach workshops are 100% led, designed and delivered by young people, for young people. By investing in young facilitators with support from a team of accredited psychological professionals, Reach successfully delivers safe, relatable and effective experiences with ongoing impact.

All of Reach’s work is underpinned by a robust wellbeing framework grounded in adolescent developmental principles.
